Job Description & Qualification

As a Research Manager on the Investment Management team, you’ll be crafting the financial algorithms that drive our portfolio advice and retirement forecasts, which provide clients with optimized investment portfolios and help them plan for their financial needs in retirement.
Your research will be passionate about capital markets, asset pricing, and factor models, portfolio optimization, Monte Carlo simulation and retirement economics.

Responsibilities:
• Identify new business opportunities to solve complex household financial problems.
• Independently identify potential improvements in our models for investment risk, portfolio optimization, and forecasting; identify the relevant advanced techniques and datasets applicable to each project.
• Integrate new product features with existing product components, and coordinate with the software engineering and QA teams during implementation and testing.
• Collaborate with product marketing and user experience teams to understand customer needs and craft new services.
• Persuasively communicate sophisticated methodologies to a layperson’s audience, including human resources professionals at client companies.
• Directly lead junior researchers' career growth, as well as improve colleague’s research ideas.
Requirements:
• PhD in Finance, Economics or equivalent.
• 5-10 years of academic or proven experience in a research capacity.
• Proven intellectual creativity and influence.
• Strong empirical research skills and background in statistics.
• Broad economic intuition applicable to new problems.
• Shown success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
