Assistant/Associate Professor

Job Description & Qualification

The Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee invites applications and nominations for a tenure track, Assistant/Associate Professor position in the Department of Finance. Review of applications will begin August 2021 and will continue until the position is filled. We will interview at the Financial Management Association meetings in Denver in October 2021. Other arrangements for interviews are also possible. Faculty members are expected to publish in top finance journals, to teach at undergraduate and graduate levels and to contribute to the intellectual life of the university. Candidates must be able to work effectively within a Department and a College that places significant emphasis on interaction and cross-functional integration. The Knoxville campus of the University of Tennessee is seeking candidates who have the ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University. Effective date of employment will be August 1, 2022, or when filled. Compensation will be competitive.

Qualifications
Required: A Ph.D. degree in finance or a related field in hand (including August 2022 graduation) as of the starting date of employment.

Preferred: The ideal candidate will have a commitment to a scholarly research record as evidenced by publications (or work toward publications) in top-tier journals in the field of finance, a commitment to quality teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, an appreciation of the role of the discipline of finance in other business functions, and the ability to work well with college and departmental colleagues in interdisciplinary programs.
